On the desktop, right-click and go to New, then to Shortcut (in other words, create a new shortcut). You should now see a pop-up window instructing you to enter a command line path. Enter one of these as the path:

Use this path if your operating system is Windows 95, 98, or Me:
C:\windows\rundll.exe user.exe,exitwindows

Use this path if your operating system is XP:
SHUTDOWN -s -t 01

If the C: drive is not your local hard drive, then replace "C" with the correct letter of the hard drive.
Click the "Next" button.

Name the shortcut and click the "Finish" button.

Now whenever you want to shut down, just click on this shortcut and you're done. Also, if you want to make life better and faster, you can right-click the new shortcut you just made, go to Properties, and type in X (or whatever letter) in the Shortcut Key box.

As we all are getting lazier day by day, this promotes laziness to the core! Generally we have problems in pressing Alt+Ctrl+Del or Windows+L to Lock our PCs, hence it would be better if we could do that by the click of a mouse. Here's how to do it :

1. Right click an empty spot on the desktop, point to New and click Shortcut.

2. In the Create Shortcut dialog box, copy the following into the 'Type the location' of the item text box: "rundll32 user32.dll,LockWorkStation" remove quotes while typing.

3. Click Next.

4. In "Type a name for this shortcut", type LOCK and Click Finish 5. Now just double click on the icon , your desktop will be locked.

Mozilla Releases Firefox 3

Wednesday, June 18, 2008 |

The Web is all about innovation, and Firefox 3 sets the pace with dozens of new features to deliver a faster, more secure and customizable Web browsing experience for all.

What’s New in Firefox 3:
User Experience.
The enhancements to Firefox 3 provide the best possible browsing experience on the Web. The new Firefox 3 smart location bar, affectionately known as the “Awesome Bar,” learns as people use it, adapting to user preferences and offering better fitting matches over time. The Firefox 3 Library archives browsing history, bookmarks, and tags, where they can be easily searched and organized. One-click bookmarking and tagging make it easy to remember, search and organize Web sites. The new full-page zoom displays any part of a Web page, up close and readable, in seconds.

Performance.
Firefox 3 is built on top of the powerful new Gecko 1.9 platform, resulting in a safer, easier to use and more personal product. Firefox 3 now uses less memory while it’s running, and its redesigned page rendering and layout engine means users see Web pages two to three times faster than Firefox 2.

Security.
Firefox 3 raises the bar for security. The new malware and phishing protection helps protect from viruses, worms, trojans and spyware to keep people safe on the Web. Firefox 3’s one-click site ID information allows users to verify that a site is what it claims to be. Mozilla’s open source process leverages the experience of thousands of security experts around the globe.

Customization.
Everyone uses the Web differently, and Firefox 3 lets users customize their browser with more than 5,000 add-ons. Firefox Add-ons allow users to manage tasks like participating in online auctions, uploading digital photos, seeing the weather forecasts, and listening to music, all from the convenience of the browser. The new Add-ons Manager helps users to find and install add-ons directly from the browser.

Mozilla Firefox 3 is available now for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X operating systems as a free download from here

Dasavadharam review

Monday, June 16, 2008 |

This is the review Of the Moviee…. Dasavadharam.

After watching Dasavatharam - the so called magnum opus of the year- an ardent fan of Kamal Hassan will ask why indeed it is called a magnum opus in the first place. Why was all the hype, tension, cases, expectations and unnecessary expenses wasted for this average film. Once again, Kamal fails to attract Tamil audiences with his own script.

The story starts with an incident taking place in 12th century during the rule of the Chozha dynasty when Hindus were divided in the name of Saivites and Vaishnavites. Rangarajan Nambi (Avatar No.1) is a loyal disciple of Ramanuja Azhwar. King Kulothunga (Napolean - what a fantastic performance!), the follower of Lord Siva compels Nambi to change his religious beliefs and worship Lord Siva instead of Lord Vishnu but Nambi refuses. The king then orders for the immersion of the statue of Lord Ranganatha along with Nambi into the sea.

After this meaningless first avatar, the movie shifts to the present scientific world. Govind (Avatar No.2), an American scientist invents a dangerous bio weapon in his lab but wants to destroy the same after realizing its dangerous consequences. But the US Govt and scientists don't allow him to do that. One fine day, Govind runs away from the lab with the bio weapon but Fletcher (Avatar No.3), a former CIA officer turned villian, is chasing him to get the weapon back to destroy other countries.

The weapon is mistakenly sent to an Indian address by courier where a 95 year old lady (Avatar No.4) receives the parcel. Govind immediately rushes to India and traces down the address followed by Fletcher who is accompanied by his prostitute cum translator (Mallika Sherawat). The old lady refuses to give the weapon to them without understanding the danger it could cause and puts it inside a statue of Lord Vishnu.

The scientist captures the statue and starts running with it pulling Asin close relative of the old lady, along with him. Fletcher chases him upto the end of the film. A foolish police officer Balram Naidu (Avatar No.5) too is in the race always chasing both these characters.

In between a Punjabi singer (Avatar No.5), US President George Bush ( Avatar No.6), a tall Muslim ( Avatar No.7), a martial arts trainer ( Avatar No.8) and a Southern district resident Annachi ( Avatar No.9) comes, does something and disappears.

Finally the tsunami comes to the rescue of the Scientist and destroys the weapon along with drowning Fletcher . The statue of Lord Rangaraja which immersed in the sea in 12th century also appears on the shore after the tsunami.

What did Kamal Hassan really want to convey? Lord Ranganatha, the almighty who is sleeping inside the sea for centuries, finally sends Tsunami to destroy the bio weapon along with the bad guy. No doubt, Dasavatharam is really an average movie with a poor plot and characterization that fails in most of the departments and fails to attract the viewers.

What is the necessity or compulsion of portraying Kamal in 10 different get ups? To create some mindless hype or register it as a record in Industry? Highly idiotic! Particularly the role of Punjabi Singer, Muslim tall man Kalifullah Khan, Annachi and Japanese martial arts trainer unnecessarily intervene in the flow of story.

There is no professionalism in makeup also. For most of the characters, the makeup looks very amateur. Kamal looks like an animation character playing the bad guys role because the makeup is over done. However, one must appreciate him for the hardwork put into playing so many different characters to perform in many roles simultaneously at this age.

Apart from Kamal, Asin plays dual roles for the first time but nothing is special in any of her get ups. Her performance is also not par excellence. Jayapradha appears in few scenes and does well in them. Nothing is special in Himesh Reshammiya's songs or Devi Sri Prasad's background score. Ravi Varman unnecessarily lifts the camera to top angle and shakes even inside a house.

Technically the film is far superior to any other Tamil movie in some scenes, particularly in the tsunami climax. The special effects of Jennie in the last 15 minutes simply rocks. Also the body language of Japanese Kamal is simply excellent. Watch this movie to see Kamal in 10 different avatars. But is it really enough to make a fan to watch a film? This is a big question stand before Kamal fans those known as the lovers of good movies like sensational Mahanadhi or Kuruthipunal!

Kamalji, we expected a lot from you!

Verdict: Not up to expectations!
Credits
Cast: Kamal Hassan, Asin, Jayapradha
Music: Himesh Reshammiya
Camera: Ravi Varman
Direction: K.S.Ravikumar
Producer: V.Ravichandran

It is generally acknowledged that we get along people who are more like us... Or it was like we are attracted to our opposites? Youunivers attempts to appeal to the visual part of your brain by having you choose from a grid of thumbnails.
When it comes time to discover people who match up, the site has a built-in tool that will let you see the best compatibility based on how they answered the same questions, as well as sliders that let you hone down the results by age, gender, and location. You can then dig a little deeper by visiting those people's profiles, sending them personal messages, or exploring the people who they're compatible with.

Dont use mobiles inside Toilet

Thursday, June 05, 2008 |

A guy was barely sitting down when he heard a vioce from the other stall saying : "Hi, how are you?"

He's not the type to start a conversation in the men's restroom But he don't know what got over him, so he answered, somewhat embarrassed, "Doin just fine!"

And the other guy says: "So what are you up to?"

What kind of quesion is that? At this point, he's thinking this is too bizarre so he says: "Uhhh, I'm like you, just travelling!"

At this point he was just trying to get out as fast as he can when he hears another question. "Can I come over?"

Ok, this question is just too weird for him but he figured that he could just be polite and end the conversation. he told him, "No....... I'm a little busy right now!!!"

Then he heared the other guy say nervously... .

Listen. i'll have to call you back. There's is an idiot in the other stall who keeps answering all my questions!!!"

My encounter with a pickpocket

Tuesday, June 03, 2008 |

I was travelling in a bus from gopalapuram to mylapore. I was aware of pickpockets and i usually have a watch in my pockets. I was having my nokia mobile in top pocket and purse in my pant pocket. Before my stop was luz stop and the bus stopped at the stop. People who are getting down at that stop got down. I started to move toward the steps and the crowd in front of me was not allowing me to proceed. Then the person in front of me got out of the bus when the bus was about to take.

As i was in the habit of keeping an eye on the pockets, now also checked my pocket but was surprised to see my pocket weighted less and was empty. My mobile has been stolen !!! and i know that lastly only 2 people left the bus. I got out of the bus and started to go after 1 person. I checked both the pockets and there was no mobile. He told me that the person who took my mobile was escaping in front. At that time a guy in the back saw that the guy who i have caught was putting my mobile in his back pocket. I got back my cell and many people got closer. When i came out of shock to give some thrashing, he already left the event.

Plan:
There was actually 2 persons and they try to block you from getting in the stop. At the lost moment they pickpocket you at that time and get down the bus while the bus was about to start. then they both get apart in different directions, if you caught the thief who pickpocketed you, he wil say that the real culprit is escaping in front and catch him before he escapes, while the one with cell phone escapes. If you are smart enough you will remember that nobody knows that your item is lost and this guy is the culprit.

Nowadays the pickpocket target cell phones and they can easily sell it for around 2000 minimum, while even if they get a purse they will get less. So guys be careful while you travel in the bus. If you have encountered such incident please put it under comments.
